Star Wars Battlefront II Geonosis Trailer Gets More Views in 4 Days Than TLJ Season Got in a Year

It's no mystery that Star Wars Battlefront II had a disastrous launch, but DICE has been hard at work trying to get everyone back on their side. The good news is, it seems to be working, and the hype is building up for the Geonosis update next week. Just in, the views on the expansion DLC just reached upwards of 2 million views in four days—that's more than the trailer for The Last Jedi season.

Just to compare, here's the trailer for The Last Jedi expansion from last year:

With the Geonosis expansion comes an all new Galactic Assault map plus the arrival of hero Obi-Wan Kenobi. Though we did get Grievous last month, we're also getting a new skin from him dubbed Shattered which has Grievous look like he just came out of an explosion.

The arrival of Geonosis and Obi-Wan only marks the end of the first half of the Clone Wars updates as well. Early next year we'll be getting more heroes in the form of Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker; plus we're promised a new game mode.

Though the game did get some well-deserved trashing at launch (thanks to EA), I think it's time for fans to take another look. The progression system has been improved fantastically, and the game is making well on its promise to have all DLC come free. If you're bummed about not having any of the new heroes, they've been given at a reasonable price that will allow you to unlock them through sheer grinding. You can't pay for them with ‘real' money at all.

Star Wars Battlefront II is now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The Geonosis update with Obi-Wan arrives Nov. 28.
