Star Wars Arcade Coming to Nintendo Switch? Sega Wants it to Happen

The Sega Ages line-up of old-school games coming to Nintendo Switch have been off to a good start thus far, with both Sonic the Hedgehog and Thunder Force IV proving to be fun to this day. While most of us are hoping for Dreamcast ports like Jet Set Radio or Skies of Arcadia, Sega recently shocked fans when they stated in an interview that they might bring an arcade-perfect port of Virtua Racing and they could do the same for Star Wars Arcade.

Star Wars Arcade was a great time for kids in the 80's as it let them partake in some of the epic starship battles in the movie. It has never been ported to consoles, outside of the rather poor port for the now-defunct 32-X.

Now, this may or may not happen since EA currently has the rights to make Star Wars games for consoles. However, Lucasfilm and Disney have been a bit liberal with the license, as they have let smaller companies make mobile games based on the popular franchise. With enough fan support and maybe a well-done deal, it wouldn't be too hard to imagine Star Wars Arcade coming to the handheld/home-console hybrid.

We'll have to wait and see if this ever comes to fruition but it would be cool, should it happen. There actually aren't that many Star Wars games in the Switch right now, if any at all, so this would be cool to see. A port of both Forced Unleashed titles would also be fun but let's take this one step at a time.

Star Wars Battlefront II is the biggest Star Wars game out right now and can be bought on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
