The Star Wars franchise was plagued with several cancelations and setbacks this year, from Kevin Feige's supposed film being shelved completely to concerns over Daisy Ridley's New Jedi Order film not being production-ready.

Now, just as the year is about to come to a close, it appears that Star Wars has once again been bitten by the delay bug. This time, a beloved show is said to have been pushed back to 2025.

Earlier this month, rumors already swirled all over the internet that the Diego Luna-starrer, set years prior to the events of Rogue One could face a massive delay. Now, a new report confirms that Season 2 has indeed been pushed back but in a shocking turn of events, it's no longer eyeing a 2024 release.

According to a recent press release from Disney UK, Andor Season 2 isn't part of the Star Wars universe's 2024 slate. In fact, four titles are expected to drop next year, including The Bad Batch Season 3, Tales of the Jedi Season 2, The Acolyte, and Skeleton Crew.

It's impossible that Andor's omission from Disney's release calendar for 2024 was a complete oversight and if anything, this suggests that we won't be seeing Cassian Andor on our screens until sometime in 2025.

That's too long of a wait, especially considering it was announced earlier this year at the Star Wars Celebration in London that the second season is slated for release next year. As it stands, Lucasfilm has yet to reveal the reason behind the delay but it's safe to say that it won't sit well with fans.

This latest Star Wars delay, as frustrating as it may sound makes all the sense in the world. Lucasfilm can't afford to bombard fans with loads of Star Wars content to the point of exhaustion, something the Marvel Cinematic Universe is already suffering from.

Meanwhile, Andor Season 1 is available to stream on Disney+.
