Star Wars: Ahsoka Series Adds Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Co-Director


It has been a long time but we're finally getting some great news about Ahsoka. It has just been confirmed that the Star Wars series has added Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse co-director Peter Ramsey to help some of the episodes of the highly anticipated The Mandalorian spin-off!

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Peter Ramsey has been tapped to join the Ahsoka series. The Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-director, who was the first Black filmmaker to win the animated feature Oscar, is expected to direct at least one episode of the Disney+ show which will bring back Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano.

Interestingly, the report also reveals that Ahsoka is expected to begin filming in Los Angeles later in April. For now, Ramsey is the only filmmaker confirmed to helm the episodes of the Star Wars series. However, there is a possibility that we'll be getting more updates on the show as production begins later this month. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Ahsoka is set to be the second The Mandalorian spin-off show after The Book of Boba Fett which premiered last December. The new series will follow Rosario Dawson's character as she continues on her mission in an effort to track down Grand Admiral Thrawn and find her lost companion Ezra Bridger.

The new Star Wars show is being developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. It will also star Hayden Christensen who will reprise his role as Darth Vader. New cast members include Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Ray Stevenson. Their roles remain undisclosed.

Ahsoka is expected to begin production in Los Angeles this April. The Star Wars series has not yet been given an official release date. However, there are speculations that the show will premiere on Disney+ by early 2023. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
