The Star Wars franchise is currently stacked as hell with upcoming content and fans are soaking it all in. With Star Wars Celebration fast approaching, we can expect Lucasfilm to drop major announcements at the spectacle and most fans are certainly hoping that we'll finally get some much-needed updates regarding Rosario Dawson's standalone Ahsoka series. As it stands, very little is known about the project but it's expected to take place within the timeline set by The Mandalorian.

It's quite obvious that the fandom is thirsty for Ahsoka content which is why when an alleged set photo surfaced this week, fans were instantly sent into overdrive. The image in question sees a production crew filming a heated scene between Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul. If you'll pay close attention to the image, you would notice that Ahsoka looks exactly the way she did in the MandoVerse which resulted in fans jumping to conclusion that it's in fact for the upcoming Ahsoka show.

Bespin Bulletin immediately debunked the authenticity of the said leak, claiming that the cameras used in the photo aren't the standard equipment a huge production outfit like Lucasfilm uses. They also shared that the series isn't going to start filming until a couple of weeks so the "leak" that has been going viral is definitely fake.

According to some folks on Twitter, the image is actually for a fan-made film and if that's the actual case, mad props to everyone involved because the costumes look superb. Meanwhile, the Ahsoka series is reportedly going to be an extension of Star Wars Rebels with fan-favorites like Ezra Bridger, Sabine Wren, and Grand Admiral Thrawn all set to appear. This marks the first encounter between Ahsoka and any of the aforementioned characters.

Ahsoka is expected to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
