Star Wars: Ahmed Best Urges the Positive Fans to Speak Out More


After Kelly Marie Tran left Instagram following months of harassment, there was a sudden outcry within the Star Wars community to weed out the toxic fans. Jar Jar actor Ahmed Best had received a lot of hate for his work on Episode I, but he urges the more positive members of the community to speak out and be heard.

A fan online had recently tried to reach out to best and talk about his positive encounters with the fanbase. Here's the interaction:

While it seems that a lot of the Star Wars fanbase is filled with haters, it really does come out that the negative fans are just more vocal. Online, it looks like Star Wars: The Last Jedi had split the fandom in two, but in reality, reactions to the film were overwhelmingly positive.

This sudden wave of positivity is something new to the Star Wars fanbase as it has become apparent that the toxic fanboys are starting to affect people in real life. Best himself even admitted that he had contemplated suicide after the backlash of his character.

Hopefully this positivity continues down the road, and I'm also crossing my fingers that Best finds his way back to a Star Wars production soon.
