Star Wars Actress Daisy Ridley On Episode IX’s Difference From The Last Jedi

Lucasfilm might be trying to do its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps, but now that the film is slowly approaching its release date, fans have started learning a few new details about the upcoming film.

Some of the newest information comes from Star Wars sequel trilogy actress herself, Daisy Ridley. The British star has been making the promotional rounds for her upcoming film Ophelia, and during her interview with the USA Today, Ridley was asked a few Star Wars questions.

One of these questions revolved around The Rise of Skywalker and how it compared to its predecessors, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

While Ridley doesn't go that deep into detail, the Star Wars star does give a rather concrete answer, saying that the film feels much different compared to The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

"Genre-wise, it's different from the other two, which will become clear when the film comes out. It's quite emotional. There's a different drive than the previous two films, but there's a lot of fun," Ridley told the publication, "I really missed John (Boyega) during the last one, but we're back together and now Oscar (Isaac) is part of it. To me, it felt like kids going on an adventure."

Though we don't know much about this adventure, it seems like Rey is going to find herself on a mission together with Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Finn (John Boyega) in the film because in The Rise of Skywalker's teaser we get to see the trio walking across a field overlooking a stormy sea and the terrifying remains of the Death Star. The only question is where this mission is going to take them and what kind of hurdles they'll have to face during their adventure.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
