It's no secret to a lot of fans of Daisy Ridley that she isn't the biggest fan of social media. In fact, as her career was just taking off following the success of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, the then rising British star would take down her official Instagram account which has over two million followers after receiving backlash for posting a message in support of victims affected by gun violence. Soon after, Ridley would also delete her Facebook page.

Despite the persistent rumors, Ridley never addressed the matter but she would later go on record that the reason behind her social media exit was the pressure of having to keep everyone updated. Over the last couple of years, she made it clear that she no longer has any interest in joining the crazy world of social media but you know what they say, never say never.

In a surprising turn of events, the 29-year-old has officially rejoined Instagram this week. In her first post since her controversial social media exit in 2016, the Chaos Walking star said that she's "coming out of social media hibernation refreshed, recharged, and ready for what I’m calling my “Year of Yes”." Meanwhile, the Rey Skywalker actress is rumored to be making her Star Wars return in a brand new trilogy following the aftermath of the Skywalker saga.
