After becoming the face of Star Wars throughout the sequel trilogy, one would presume that Daisy Ridley would be swimming in job offers following the release of The Rise of Skywalker. However, the actress reveals she wasn't actually getting much work following the final installment of the Skywalker Saga.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ridley talks about not getting a lot of job offers at the beginning of this year and how it's apparently both a blessing and a curse. "It was so sad to finish [Star Wars]," she said. "When the film was released, I was like, 'Oh my God.' It was such a huge chapter. And, weirdly, the past few months of not having much."

"Obviously now it's really nice to be working," Ridley continued. "But not having much [at the time] I feel like I processed the last five years," adding that it was mentally "good" for her to "slow down," especially since Star Wars was a "big thing" in her life.

"Weirdly, at the beginning of the year nothing was coming through," the actress added. "I was like, 'Aww! No one wants to employ me.'" RIdley actually auditioned for "loads of things" at the beginning of the year but wasn't able to get any of them. "I had that moment of 'Oh my god!' and then just thought 'everything in its right time.'"

That being said, things started to pick up before the coronavirus pandemic led to production shutdown. She booked roles in the Twelve Minutes video game as well as the Baby Yaga animated movie and the Islanders series. Ridley says there are some other "awesome things" too, teasing something that's "super f*cking dark" but "obviously no one knows when they're gonna go" yet.
