Star Wars Actor Adam Driver Is Hosting Saturday Night Live’s 44th Season Premiere

It looks like Star Wars fans are in for a treat because Star Wars sequel trilogy star Adam Driver is going to host the 44th season premiere of Saturday Night Live during the end of the month.

Saturday Night Live announced the big news on its Twitter account late yesterday, saying that Adam Driver would be returning to host the show's new season premiere while popular musician Kanye West would be performing something on the late-night television variety show.

This is going to be the second time that Driver hosts a Saturday Night Live episode, and while we're not entirely sure whether he's going to come dressed as the estranged Ben Solo of the Star Wars franchise, we're certainly hoping that he does.

The first time Driver appeared in SNL, the actor starred in one of the most memorable Star Wars sketches on the show – "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base."

Co-written by Bobby Moynihan who also starred in the sketch, the Saturday Night Live episode had Driver play Kylo Ren going undercover and pretending to be Matt, a humble radar technician who's secretly out to discover what the Starkiller Base employees secretly think of Kylo.

It was a pretty fun episode, and Star Wars fans couldn't get enough of radar technician Matt going wild in the cafeteria, nearly choking an officer for thinking that Kylo Ren was an a**hole. Matt became so popular that some fans have taken to cosplaying him at pop culture conventions around the globe.

Though there's no real certainty whether not Matt's going to make his way back to SNL, we're hoping that Driver dresses up as something Star Wars during the episode.

Saturday Night Live's season 44 premiere hits on September 29.
