Star Wars: A New Hope Conversation May Reveal Kylo Ren’s Ultimate Fate In Episode IX

Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker wraps until the film releases next year, but that doesn't haven't stopped Star Wars fans from creating wild theories about what might happen in the film. Expecting Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) to find some sort of redemption after his arc in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a new Star Wars fan theory for Episode IX says that Ben Solo's redemption may very well be foreshadowed by a line taken from Star Wars: A New Hope.

There's a new The Rise of Skywalker fan theory making the rounds on Reddit, and according to Redditor ThatSoodooGuy, one specific conversation between Luke's uncle Owen and his Aunt Beru from A New Hope actually hints at Kylo Ren's redemption.

"You can't keep him here forever, he has too much of his father in him," Beru tells Owen. "I know, that's what I'm afraid of," Owen answers.

This exchange between the two sounds very similar to a conversation that Han (Harrison Ford) and Leia (Carrie Fisher) have in The Force Awakens where Han tells Leia that it's late for Kylo Ren because he has too much of his grandfather in him.

According to the theory, the two moments seem too similar. It's unlikely that director and screenwriter J.J. Abrams created this parallel situation between the two by accident. That moment between Han and Leia in The Force Awakens suggests that Ben will try to find his balance in The Rise of Skywalker.
