Star Trek: Picard Actor Jeri Ryan Shares Season 2 Update

There is little doubt that people are already looking forward to Star Trek: Picard Season 2 after the first season concluded with a tease on Seven of Nine possibly finding a new love interest. But when can we expect to see the second season? Jeri Ryan has revealed that the cast and crew could begin production really soon.

Ryan recently joined the online cast reunion of Star Trek: Voyager where she was asked if there were any updates on Picard Season 2. Interestingly, she confirmed that production was supposed to begin a lot earlier this year but had to be pushed back due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"We are waiting to see…We are just in a holding pattern. We were originally supposed to start shooting in the middle of June, but they would have had to start building the sets at the beginning of May, which we can't do. So, we are just waiting. They are hoping we can start shooting in the fall. I don't know," Ryan said.

We're really hoping that production could start soon so that the second season would air as soon as possible. Hopefully, we'll be getting more positive updates on Star Trek: Picard Season 2 in the near future.

Although fans can rest assured that Seven will be back in the next season, Patrick Stewart may have confirmed that at least one character will not be returning in Season 2. Stewart had previously revealed that the cast and crew already said goodbye to Harry Treadaway, indicating that Narek is no longer joining the crew of La Sirena on their next adventure.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
