Star Trek: Michelle Yeoh's Section 31 Series Gets Interesting Update

There is little doubt that the Star Trek Universe continues to expand and fans are hyped up about the upcoming shows. One of these projects happens to be the Star Trek: Discovery spin-off that would focus on Section 31. So when exactly can we expect to see Michelle Yeoh's Philippa Georgiou in action again? A new update reveals it could be a long wait.

Georgiou's series was teased back in 2018 in an alternate ending of Discovery Season 2 where Mirror Georgiou is approached by an operative of Section 31. However, there were no updates about the show since then.

So what exactly is happening to Georgiou's Section 31 series? Paramount Plus programming chief Julie McNamara and Star Trek executive producer Alex Kurtzman recently told Variety the show is still in "conversations".

"We're very careful about curating the pacing — the number of shows at any given time — and what those shows are, so that we make sure that it's always exciting when there's a new track show coming out," McNamara said.

Sadly, it sounds like Trekkies will have to wait until the other Star Trek shows are completed. Considering that Discovery and Star Trek: Picard are still in full swing and two new shows are starting production this year, we may have to sit patiently to see Georgiou again.

Georgiou was last seen in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 where her storyline was given a proper conclusion. Nevertheless, Yeoh is still expected to reprise the role when Paramount finally gives the Section 31 series the green light.
