Star Trek Actor Patrick Stewart Reveals New Picard Series Timeline

The premise of the upcoming Star Trek series that will focus on Jean-Luc Picard is still a great mystery. However, we now know exactly when the new CBS All Access show will take place, thanks to Patrick Stewart himself.

Stewart was recently a guest on The Graham Norton Show where he spoke about the highly anticipated series. Interestingly, the Logan star didn't hesitate in confirming the Picard series timeline.

"We're reviving a Picard story. It's exactly 19 years in the future, which was how time has passed since the last time I put on my spacesuit...for the television series," Stewart confessed.

So what does this mean? Considering that the final episode for Star Trek: The Next Generation took place in 2370, the Picard series will be happening in 2389. A lot of things have happened since All Good Things but it's unlikely that we'll revisit the events in Star Trek: Nemesis.

Stewart's final appearance as Picard was in the 2002 film, which took place in the year 2379. Interestingly, the movie featured a young Tom Hardy as Picard's Reman clone Shinzon. Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that the Venom star will be asked to reprise his role in the series.

But what Picard story can we look forward to? Stewart isn't quite ready to reveal everything about his new show just yet. Hopefully, we'll be getting more updates in the near future.

It may still be a long wait for the Picard series. In the meantime, Stewart's new movie The Boy Who Would Be King is currently playing in theaters. He is also set to play Bosley in the upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot which is currently in post-production.
