Star-Lord And Thor Team Up To Make A Hilarious Combo In Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel fans following the news on Avengers: Infinity War probably already know that preview of the film release during Disney's D23 earlier this month showed Chris Hemsworth's Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time while floating in space.

Having the Asgardian god of thunder fly into the windshield of the Guardians of the Galaxy's Milano is a pretty unconventional way to get the characters together, but it certainly does make for good comedy and it looks like Thor and Chris Pratt's Star Lord are going to make a powerful comedy duo in Infinity War.

Speaking with IGN after San Diego Comic Con's Marvel Studios panel last weekend, Infinity War director Joe Russo teased the dynamic between Thor and Peter Quill in the upcoming Marvel mash-up movie, saying that the two actually made a pretty good combo.

"You know what's interesting is that because of the re-toning that Taika (Waititi) did with Thor 3 and the direction is set in as a character, he and Star-Lord were a very surprising combination and a very funny combination. So I'm excited for the audience to see the two of them together."

Seeing how Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi added an offbeat funny streak to Marvel's Odinson, it's no surprise that the god of thunder does well with the quippy Peter Quill. We wonder what shenanigans the two will find themselves in once Infinity War hits cinemas.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018.
