Squid Game, the hit Korean survival TV drama series, has continued to dominate Netflix. Weeks after its release date, some fans wondered if more than one player could survive and win the death games.

Squid Game Theory About Multiple Winners

The show follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung Jae) was recruited to play innocent children's play turned death games for the price of 45. 6 billion Won. All of the participants involved were in financial trouble. Although they were allowed to return to their old lives, the majority returned despite knowing that joining the competition could lead to their death.

According to Screen Rant, the winner has to win all six games. After the glass floor game, only Gi-hun, Sang-woo (Park Hae Soo), and Kang Sae-byeok (Jung Ho Yeun) survived.

Gi-hun and Sae-byeok could form an alliance to beat Sang-woo in the final game — Squid Game. However, she was severely injured after a shard of glass hit her on the stomach. Had Sae-byeok survived, there are chances that she and Gi-hun would share the prize.

However, there is also a possibility that no one will win if all of them die in the competition. In that case, the money will likely go to the next year's competition or be sent to their surviving families, as mentioned on the show.

The outlet noted that Squid Game was very different from Hunger Games because the latter eventually bent its rule for multiple players to win.

What to Expect In Squid Game Season 2?

Despite Squid Game's massive success, Netflix hasn't renewed it for a second season yet. However, director Hwang Dong-hyuk teased that he already had an idea for Squid Game Season 2. He wanted to show the old man's backstory, a.k.a player 001, who is rumored to be Gi-hun's biological dad.

"Oh Il-nam is a man of huge success from nothing. As we see from the phrase ‘the money man', he is a veiled big shot in the financial industry," director Hwang told RadioTimes.com.

"It seems, however, the way how he years for the happy moments of his past shows that he has lost many things including his family and his humanity at the cost of success. If there will be a season two, we might reveal a little more about his past story."

He also wanted to focus on the "issue with police officers." There are rumors that Hwang Jun-hom, the police officer who sneaks into the game to investigate his missing brother, is still alive. In the last season, he discovered that the Front Man was his brother. So, his expected return in Season 2 is something that many viewers are looking forward to seeing.
