Squid Game Theory: How The Players And Workers Were Chosen Would Surely Shock You

Squid Game has continued to dominate Netflix. More and more are enticed to watch the series while those who do aren't over it yet. After all, turning innocent children's games into deadly survival games is something that is not easy to grasp.

If you are still thinking about the Korean TV series, here's a new theory that will surely shock you. A viral video on TikTok suggests that the players and the workers, those in red uniform, took part in the same game, which decided their fate. Are you ready to know it?

Squid Game Players Picked The Blue Tile

In Squid Game Episode 1, Seong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung Jae) was approached by a Salesman (Gong Yoo) on a train platform. The man tempted Gi-hun into playing Ddakji. He offered Gi-hun a chance to win 100,000 won if he manages to flip over the Salesman's tile.

Before they started the game, the Salesman let Gi-hun choose a color between the two folded paper tiles available in red and blue. He picked blue and lost several rounds enduring several slaps from the Salesman because he had no cash to pay him for his win.

Eventually, Gi-hun won several times until the Saleman handed him all the money and disappeared. When all the players were gathered together, footage showed them playing the same game as Gi-hun. And shockingly, all of them chose the same color — blue!

Cho Sang-woo (Park Hae Soo) chose blue, Kim Mi-ok, chose blue and No Sang-hun chose blue. More players were shown on the footage using the blue tile and none of them used a red tile, Pop Buzz reported.

So what happened to those who played with the Salesman and chose the red tile?

Squid Game Workers Picked The Red Tile

According to the theory, those who chose the red tile when they played Ddakji became the workers. They were the red workers who donned red overalls with their faces covered by a black mask with different shapes — round, square and triangle — depending on their position.

The circle is for the workers with the lowest rank, the triangle is for the soldiers and the square is for the supervisors.

Creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk hasn't confirmed this theory but some were convinced that it's accurate and might be confirmed in Squid Game Season 2.
