Squid Game indeed became a game-changer when it reached Netflix this year. From being a rejected idea by several Korean production companies, it found its home in the streaming giant and got the spotlight it always deserves.

The Korean series tells the story of 465 players who are thirsty to win the monetary prize after winning intensified children's games. Each episode portrays the dark side of the world's biggest community that sees money as the most important thing in the world.

Riot Games made it possible by promoting the series using different strategies. The company dropped the series during the final day of the 2021 League of Legends World Championship. It also streamed its first episode via Twitch.
