Square Enix’s Avengers Misses the Landing in New Honest Game Trailer

With such a lucrative box office franchise, everyone was hoping that the Avengers would do well as a AAA game, but Square Enix’s Avengers: A –Day has somehow stumbled in the landing. Now Fandom Games has released their Honest Game Trailer take on one of 2020’s biggest games.

From the developers of your favorite tomb-raiding murder porn, comes a superhero blockbuster that’s trying it’s absolute hardest to stand up to the films; where Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will face their greatest adversary yet—rampant microtransactions.

While there are several Marvel-based games out there, none of them have been able to garner the same level of presiding as AAA games like God of War or The Last of Us. Square was probably hoping to catch that same magic with the Avengers game, but reviews all just fell flat when it finally released.

Personally, I think the concept as actually pretty gutsy, what with the whole new narrative and look, but the gameplay did kind of get repetitive and they were never really able to replicate the success that was Insomniac’s Spider-Man game.

While the game seems to have floundered, for now, Square is still looking to add more things to it in the following year. PlayStation gamers will get access to Spider-Man as a playable character, and we’re also getting a playable Hawkeye and Black Panther. Hopefully, they’ll be able to add more to the story, as that’s apparently the only saving grace of this game.

Square Enix’s Avengers game is now playable for Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
