What was supposed to be the first of more DLC for Final Fantasy XV ended up being the last piece of content coming to the JRPG. Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn has plenty of interest from fans since many were curious about the character's motivations since they were pretty muddled during the main game. Square Enix has now released story and character details surrounding the final DLC episode, revealing that this will be a prequel set 35 years before the main game.
Ardyn is a man who willingly became a demon and was banished for thousands of years, but was recently freed by a scientist named Verstael Besithia. After heading to an Imperial research facility bu Besithia, Ardyn discovers a terrible truth and now wants revenge on the Kingdom of Lucis.
This looks to be a fairly meaty DLC episode as a number of other characters will be appearing in it, including a younger version of Regis Lucis Caelum, the father of FF XV protagonist Noctis. Thanks to Gematsu, we are also aware of several new characters who will be in the new DLC episode, including Ardyn's love Aera Mils Fleuret and his younger brother Somnus Lucis Caelum.
Fans will be able to enjoy Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ardyn on March 26. The base game can now be purchased on PS4 and Xbox One, while the Gold Edition with all the DLC (minus this one) is available on the aforementioned consoles and PC.
