Spy x Family Episode 9: Yor and Loid Somehow Prove Their Love to Yuri

Spy x Family Episode 9 is finally out and it looks like the Forgers are determined not to fail in fulfilling their mission. In the previous episode, Yuri Briar had demanded that Yor and Loid Forger prove that they are married. Not surprisingly, the two agreed that they would have to kiss in front of Yor's brother!

In Spy x Family Episode 9, we finally got to see the continuation of last week's cliffhanger where Loid was leaning in to kiss the panicking Yor. This time, Yor realizes she isn't ready and tries to calm her nerves by drinking some (okay, a lot of) wine. Sensing her nervousness, Loid whispers to assure her that they don't need to do this.

Yuri becomes suspicious of all the whispering and the drunk Yor throws a fork, narrowly missing her brother before proceeding to try and kiss Loid. At this point, Yuri himself begins to regret his decision and tries to stop them from kissing.

Yuri's action embarrasses Yor who tries to slap Loid but hits her brother instead, sending him flying into a wall. (The impact causes the apartment to shake, momentarily jolting Anya Forger awake). Although injured, Yuri stands up and tells Loid he is now in charge of Yor's lips. The comment embarrasses his sister again and she slaps him a second time.

Loid is concerned by Yuri's bleeding but realizes that the man truly cares about his sister and admits that he admires the siblings. Although Yor offers to get him a cab, Yuri staggers out of the apartment and promises to visit unannounced.

Sadly, we don't get to see Yor and Loid kissing in Spy x Family Episode 9. Nevertheless, the episode proved that the two cared enough about each other to make things work out.

Spy x Family Episode 10 is titled The Great Dodgeball Plan ("Dojjibōru Daisakusen") and will premiere on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
