Here’s What Happened Before Spy x Family Episode 21
Anya and her classmates were tasked to write a report about their assignment and present it by Friday.
At first, Anya was not sure which parent to shadow considering both have hidden identities and top-secret jobs.
She first considered her mother, Yor, since her city job seemed to be safe.
Anya explained the assignment to Yor and tried to interview her, but Yor was not sure which profession to say.
Eventually, Yor played out a scenario in her head wherein Anya followed her in one of her missions as the Thorn Princess.
Anya decided that her mother’s job was actually dangerous and decided to ask her dad instead.
Anya went to the general hospital with Loid, particularly in the psychiatric ward where he is a popular psychiatrist.
She knew that she was shadowing his cover job as his real job is being a spy.
Through her telekinetic abilities, she found out that he has to steal information about his targets whenever he's on a mission.
She starts writing notes based on Loid's inner thoughts as a spy, which eventually confused him as he has not said a word about his cover job at all.
She also interviewed him and he stated how he wanted to help people with mental health issues, especially those affected by the war.
In his head, he was thinking about a scenario wherein his main target, the Chairman of the National Unity Party of Ostania, gets hospitalized or sick.
In this way, he would easily be able to get information about his target.
Anya also asked about Loid's working environment as well as the challenges he encounters in his job.
She then told him that she needed to shadow him for the assignment, to which he responded that she can’t because of doctor-patient confidentiality.
He then led her to a consultation room that has a secret passageway. He left her with a sandbox and toys to keep her distracted.
Once he was gone, Anya decided to explore the secret passage, despite her father telling her to behave.
In the passage, she overheard some doctors having a meeting about mythomania or hallucinations.
She found the topic exciting but the meeting was cut short after Anya made some noise which caused the doctors to think that she was the ghost baby haunting the hospital.
When Loid came back, he was surprised to see all the toys in the sandbox and thought that Anya was lashing out.
He then decided to help her with the report which, unbeknownst to him, eventually contained some details about his spy job, causing the headmaster to question her assignment.
The second part of the episode focused on Anya and her favorite show. She decided to make her own code with Yor’s help.
She distributed the said code to different people, including Damian Desmond and Frankie.
Frankie, unfortunately, thought that the code was a love letter from another woman because of the smell of the paper and the handwriting on it.
He thought a woman gave it to Anya and decided to go to the meeting spot, not knowing that he was supposed to meet Anya instead.
However, Anya did not show up after Bond turned off her alarm.

Spy x Family Episode 21 will be released on November 26, 2022. It will be available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Muse Communication’s channels.
Spy x Family is a split cour season. This means that the spy anime will have a total of 25 episodes with 12 episodes in the first part and 13 episodes in the second part.
