The manga, on the other hand, is still ongoing, as Chapter 88 of the Spy x Family manga took the anime community by storm due to the recent developments in Anya and Damian's growing relationship. Spy x Family: A Modern Breakout Action and Comedy Hit Series
For the uninitiated, Spy x Family follows Twilight, a secret agent who has to create a fake family for his current mission.
Under the alias Loid Forger, he forms the Forger family. However, he's not the only one with secrets — his wife, Yor, is an assassin, while his daughter, Anya, is a telepath.
The hit comedy series by Tatsuya Endo has undoubtedly become the talk of the town, especially after the second season's premiere.
Furthermore, the Spy x Family manga is more popular than ever — as of September 2023, the manga has already sold around 31 million copies.
Damian Desmond: The Troubled Son of the Desmond Family
Damian Desmond is the second son of Donovan Desmond, Twilight's target. He is in the same class as Anya, and Loid was hoping that they become friends so he could get closer to Donovan.
In the beginning, Damian can be perceived as an arrogant child, probably brought about by his social status and upbringing. He thought Anya had a crush on him after he caught her simply staring at him.
After Anya's infamous "heh" moment, Damian gets angry with her after he feels offended by her expression.
Furthermore, Damian's feelings regarding Anya become blurred after she punches him in the face.

Does Damian Have Feelings for Anya?
Damian Desmond harbors romantic feelings for Anya Forger but is too afraid to admit it. He sees Anya differently from other girls in his class, but his pride and ego as a Desmond always get in the way.
Throughout the series, Damian can be seen annoyed with Anya's shenanigans. He doesn't like Anya's guts, let alone her fists.
He refuses to spend time with Anya or become close to her since he believes she is simply one of his peers who wants to be his friend because he is a Desmond.
While Anya works hard to get close to Damian, the latter is adamant not to give in to the latter's antics.
Even so, Damian, who's already in the denial stage, sees Anya as a good girl, albeit annoying, and as one of his friends deep in his heart.
Episode 7 of Spy x Family's anime, titled The Target's Second Son, showed Anya's rough beginnings at school. However, during the episode, it looked like Damian was in denial of something as well.
When Anya apologized to Damian with tears in her eyes, it was like a switch flipped inside Damian. It turns out his feelings of being nervous around Anya were because he developed a crush on her.
In his monologue right after Anya's apology, a part of him already knew that he seemed to have feelings for her. However, he just didn't want to admit it.
After that moment, the episode also shows a slightly different animation style of Anya from Damian's point of view. In that style, Anya's eyes are rounder than usual, brighter, and sparkly.
Following those series of events, further episodes will cover the weird, developing relationship between Damian and Anya. Although one thing is for sure — the target's second son has developed a crush on Anya!
In Spy x Family Chapter 88, Damian and Anya had a sweet moment. Damian wants to give Anya sweets that are so hard to acquire in return for the favor Anya did for him during the handkerchief incident.
But Damian's friends, along with Becky Blackbell, get in the way. Damian doesn't want his friends to know that he will give sweets to Anya, in fear that they will misunderstand him.
It has been a recurring theme in the series, which somehow hampers the progression of Anya and Damian's relationship.
In the end, Damian and Anya manage to get some alone time, but they are stopped by Henry Henderson.
They were sent to detention, where the two of them enjoyed tea time with Henry, eating the sweets together.
Does Anya Have Feelings for Damian?
We all know how important Damian is to Anya, but not because she likes him romantically. He is important to Anya because he is a pawn in Loid Forger's Operation Strix.
If Anya succeeds in befriending Damian, it means peace will be maintained between the East and the West in the eyes of the young Forger.
In reality, Anya Forger is annoyed with Damian's rude behavior towards her. Her impression of Damian eventually changed as the two of them spent time together at school through their simple gestures.
It took a short time for Anya to notice how good Damian was. She thinks that Damian is a good friend to others and a good son to his parents.
