Spy x Family’s second season is about to end soon, but fans still have the new movie to look forward to, especially as it features a brand-new story. During the movie’s recent Japanese premiere, Loid VA Takuya Eguchi praised the Spy x Family Code: White villain actor Banjo Ginga for his voice acting skills.

As the film has only been released today in Japan, there’s not a lot of info yet about the story. Based on the trailers though, we already have an idea of what to expect regarding its main villain.

For the Spy x Family movie, series creator Tatsuya Endo cooked up a brand-new original story where the Forger family will go on a trip to help Anya get a Stella star.

This is because Loid finds out that there’s a competition in Eden Academy. To guarantee Anya’s win, the family decides to visit the place where the principal’s favorite food originated.

Of course, things don’t go as planned as the family (more specifically, Anya) sets off a chain of events that have dire consequences.

Based on the film’s trailers, the family will face off against Snyder, a colonel who is part of an intelligence agency. It seems that Snyder’s goal is to disrupt the peace between East and West, jeopardizing Twilight’s goals.

Voicing Snyder is Banjo Ginga, a veteran VA who has played numerous roles over the decades. Ginga is the VA of Isaac Netero in Hunter x Hunter, Mad Pierrot in Cowboy Bebop, and Gihren Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam.

During the film’s premiere event in Japan, Loid VA Takuya Eguchi shared what it was like working with such a veteran voice actor.

Eguchi said that despite being a legend, Ginga is a humble person who usually quietly enters the recording booth. Despite his quiet nature, Ginga’s voice acting was quite intense.

Thanks to this, Eguchi said that Ginga left a deep impression on him, and he hopes that he can do that kind of acting in the future.

Based on how intense Ginga’s acting is, Snyder might just be the most fearsome Spy x Family villain yet. Thus, the film should be a must-see in cinemas when it gets released.

Spy x Family Code: White is out now in Japanese cinemas. The film is set to be released in the US sometime in 2024.
