Spy Classroom, also known as Spy Room, is based on a light novel series written by Takemachi and illustrated by Tomari.

After a devastating war that wrecked the lives of many innocents, weapons are now frowned upon and wars are fought in sneakier ways.

The main character, Lily, is one of the many young people trained to become spies.

While she's a good student in theory, she only barely manages to pass her practical exams.

Because of that, it seems that Lily doesn't have much of a chance at a decent future until she's given the option to join the mysterious team "Inferno" and partake in what is known as an "Impossible Mission."

Team Inferno's last surviving member, Klaus, who will be head of the mission, is tasked with training Lily and six other female spies with similar washout backgrounds.

To make matters more complicated, Klaus is unable to teach others and fails to transmit knowledge to his students despite being an excellent spy.

When Lily realizes that his bad teaching skills mean that the girls are never going to survive and attempts to escape the mission, Klaus comes up with an unorthodox plan to train his students.

With its setting that is reminiscent of 20th-century Europe, much like Violet Evergarden and Spy x Family, and a premise similar to Assassination Classroom, the spy anime has some excellent vibes to keep you hooked.

How Many Episodes Will Spy Classroom Have?

As of writing, it is confirmed that Spy Classroom will feature a total of 12 episodes in its first season. This is the expected number for a new anime release, as most anime have 12 episodes when they run for one cour only.

Remember that Spy Classroom is based on a light novel series, which is currently ongoing.

So far, there are eight volumes and a number of short stories, with more content being possible in the future.

On the other hand, the manga adaptation concluded with three volumes, so it's possible that Spy Classroom was always meant to be a short anime.

In any case, it's hard to predict exactly how much the anime is going to cover in Season 1 or whether any additional content is currently in the cards.
