Spider-Men II Brings Back [SPOILERS]

Now that Brian Michael Bendis is DC-bound, the famous Marvel author will be wrapping up some of the loose ends in his final Marvel comics. One comic series that was filled with these was Spider-Men II, the sequel to the acclaimed Spider-Men series he wrote a few years ago. The fifth and final issue came out this week, shocking long-time Marvel fans who have followed Bendis' adventures for some time since it featured a surprising revelation: the Ultimate Universe is back.

When the Earth-616 version of Miles Morales was revealed to be a gangster whose identity had been unknown to the rest of the world, fans were wondering where his arc would go. In the third issue, it was revealed that his wife died and that he wanted to go to an alternate universe to find a new version of her. In the fifth issue of the series, he succeeds but no one expected him to go to a seemingly reborn version of the Ultimate Universe.

Pretty much every character who died in the Ultimate Universe has come back, with the odd addition of Ultimate Iron Heart aka Ultimate Riri Williams. We even see Ultimate Spider-Man (Peter Parker) chase Ultimate Green Goblin, who is a monstrously strong being who can shoot fireballs in this universe. To make this sequence nostalgic to fans of the Ultimate Universe, Mark Bagley was tasked with drawing the sequence. Bagley drew Ultimate Spider-Man for 111 issues, so his presence is appreciated.

Spider-Men II #5 is available now.
