Brian Bendis Reveals His Final Marvel Comic

One of the biggest shockers of 2017 was the announcement that long-time Marvel writer Brian Michael Bendis would be moving to DC Comics for a multi-year deal. Bendis had been with the publisher for more than a decade, so his departure is one that sent shockwaves throughout the industry. As fans begin to wonder which DC superhero he will be taking on, the writer confirmed which Marvel comic would be his last.

Replying to a fan on Twitter, he confirmed that Invincible Iron Man #600 will be his final comic for the company. Bendis also said that the other comics he's penned will end with his statement on said character or set up a new adventure for a future writer to tackle. He previously hinted that a female writer would soon take on the future adventures of Jessica Jones, while his other creations like Miles Morales and Riri Williams would still be around.

Bendis is leaving a number of titles that might get canceled after his departure. While Jessica Jones is seemingly safe, The Defenders might not get a second writer. He is also wrapping up Miles' adventures in his solo Spider-Man series and the mini-series Spider-Men II, which will explain who the "original" Miles Morales is.

With Invincible Iron Man #598 slated for a March 2018 release, that means we will likely see the 600th issue in May 2018. Bendis claims it will be a big issue and fans might want to pick it up.
