Spider-Man Reportedly To Become Reed Richard’s Mentee In Fantastic Four Movie

Now that Spider-Man's officially returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to Sony and Disney's new agreement, rumors have started spreading saying that Kevin Feige wants to see Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Marvel's new Fantastic Four movie that may feature The Office actor, John Krasinski.

According to the Lords of the Longbox channel, word on the rumor mill has it that Marvel is hoping to introduce the Fantastic Four into the MCU, and when that happens, the studio wants to turn Reed Richards into Peter Parker's new mentor.

Tying together the Fantastic Four with Spider-Man makes sense seeing how Marvel's First Family was teased in the end credits sequence for Spider-Man: Far From Home. In one particular scene where Peter swings MJ (Zendaya) around New York, the couple happen to swing by the former Avengers tower which some say is being turned into the Baxter Building, while others say is being turned into the Oscorps Tower.

It's an interesting rumor. Peter Parker is still fairly young, and it would be lovely to see him find another mentor in Mr. Fantastic. The only problem is that Marvel still has to find a way to properly introduce the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Deadpool, and all of Fox's mutant heroes, into the MCU.

The studio might not have any problem with the rights now that Disney owns most of 21st Century Fox's film and television assets, but it still has to consider how to fit the Fantastic Four into the current narrative of the MCU.

Let's wait and see what happens.

Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on May 1, 2020.
