Marvel's Spider-Man, called Spider-Man PS4 by fans, finally has a release date and fans cannot wait to get their hands on the Sony exclusive. Insomniac Games, the developer of the Marvel game, have confirmed that they will be releasing post-launch DLC for the title, which isn't an unexpected move in the current gaming market.

However, fans will be happy to know that it won't have any microtransactions. It's actually a bit sad how developers always have to say this now when talking about their games but that's the Battlefront II effect in play.

Game Informer confirmed the news when questioning the game's creative director Bryan Intihar. It was also confirmed that the game would be locked at 30 fps in both PS4 and PS4 Pro, which might be disappointing to some but does indicate a stable framerate at least.

Some would argue that DLC isn't much better than microtransactions but at least they add more content to the game. Microtransactions usually just give players an advantage over others in some multiplayer games, which is already pretty questionable. When implemented in a single-player experience, it's even worse.

Spider-Man PS4 comes out on September 7. It will not have microtransactions.
