The Marvel Multiverse is already beginning to take shape and with less than a month before Spider-Man: No Way Home's theatrical release, webheads are beyond stoked to see how everything plays out. Turns out, one deceased character will still play a major role in the Spidey threequel and it seems like it's been a recurring theme in Tom Holland's films.

As revealed by the latest TV spot for Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' joint venture, Jamie Foxx's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 villain Electro will be carrying Iron Man's arc reactor or at least a version of it that is attached to his armor.

We don't know for sure how and why he was able to gain possession of the late Tony Stark's tech but it could be a way for Electro to control his powers more easily. It's also worth noting that aside from him, Doctor Otto Octavius also seems to be using Stark's nanotech on his mechanical tentacles. Check it out here:

Considering Spider-Man: No Way Home only has less than three hours of runtime, it would be safe to assume that the writers can only tell very little regarding the respective backstories of the returning villains so the real question is, how will they be able to explain the entire Stark tech scenario? I guess we'll just have to wait and see but if it tells you anything, it's that even in death, Tony Stark still plays a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits cinemas on December 17, 2021.
