Spider-Man: No Way Home Fan Sets Guinness World Record for Most Cinema Attendance of the Same Film

Spider-Man: No Way Home was a huge success at the box office as a lot of people flocked to the theaters to watch (or rewatch) the highly-anticipated crossover between three Spider-Man franchises in one film, especially the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, none of you came close to a man from Florida who has now broken a Guinness World Record for his multiple viewings of the film.

Guinness World Records has announced that Ramiro Alanis from Florida, USA has reclaimed the record for the most cinema productions attended for the same film after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home 292 times from its opening night on December 16 until March 15 of this year. He previously claimed the record when he watched Avengers: Endgame 191 times in 2019 and then it was broken by Arnaud Klein in 2021 when he watched Kaamelott: First Instalment 204 times.

After feeling "a little bit disappointed" when Klein broke his record last year, Alanis decided to reclaim the record as a tribute to his grandmother Juany, who passed away in 2019 before she can see him earn his Guinness World Record.

In order to qualify and officially count each viewing for the record, Alanis must watch the film in its entirety (including all of the credits) without any interruptions such as looking at his phone or even going to the bathroom. Eleven of his viewings were disqualified due to the bathroom breaks that he took. His ticket stubs for each viewing were also submitted as evidence and a statement was taken from a theater attendant to confirm that he watched the film all throughout.

However, his road to reclaiming to record wasn't an easy journey for him. Usually, he would experience headaches around late at night after already watching the film four times prior during the day. "Trying to stay put mentally with work, family, and the attempt" was also a big challenge that he faced as well as sacrificing his usual workout routine.

It is impressive to hear this story, especially knowing all the dedication and hard work that Alanis did in order to break the record. But in the end, it was all worth it as the record was officially designated to him. It's hard to tell if we can see somebody try to break the record again although Alanis has a message to whoever wants to try to attempt it: "If anyone tries to break my record again, I want them to think twice before attempting it."
