There is little doubt that being a part of the Star Wars Universe is a major achievement in Hollywood. With that in mind, it looks like Jon Watts has reached a huge milestone. A new report suggests that the Spider-Man: No Way Home director is in talks to direct a new Star Wars project and it might be one of the upcoming Disney+ shows right now!

According to Discussing Film, some sources have shared that Jon Watts is currently in negotiations to helm at least one episode of an upcoming Star Wars series. Although the project itself was not revealed, it is believed that the show is being executive produced by Jon Favreau. With that in mind, many believe that it is The Mandalorian Season 3, which is set to premiere later this year.

Although it would be awesome if Jon Watts helmed one of the episodes of The Mandalorian Season 3, there is a bigger chance that the filmmaker's involvement will be in one of the newer shows in the future. Either way, we love the idea that Watts is joining the Star Wars Universe and will be waiting for an official announcement soon.

For now, Disney and Lucasfilm have not yet confirmed when The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere. However, there is a huge chance that all of the episodes for the new season are already done and the release date will be announced later this year. With that in mind, Watts could be involved in another Star Wars show like Ahsoka, The Acolyte, or the second season of Andor.

Jon Watts directed all three Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland. He is also expected to helm the Fantastic Four reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His involvement in a new Star Wars series has not yet been officially announced. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
