Spider-Man: Homecoming Actor Wants to be Mister Miracle for DC's New Gods

Logan Marshall-Green had a short stint as the Shocker in Spider-Man: Hoemcoming, and now he's setting his sights to star in Ava DuVernay's New Gods for the DCEU.

He posted this up on Twitter:

I'm officially an unemployed actor and I've already had my 15 min in the #MCU. So I'm starting my own shameless campaign to play my favorite hero in the #DCU. #mrmiracle@ava

The post apparently got DuVernay's attention, and she then responded with:

Mister Miracle is admittedly one of the more obscure heroes in DC, but his origin is every closely tied to Darkseid as well as DuVernay's favorite character from the New Gods, Big Barda. Here's the origin story:

Fun fact, Miracle was popular enough to have an appearance in Justice League Unlimited, and they hired Fantastic Four actor Ioan Gruffudd to provide the voice for the character.

Out of all the DC projects that were offered to her, DuVernay was said to have had a soft spot for New Gods, and has said that one of her heroes was Big Barda from the comics. Development for the project still has a long way to go, and we should expect an update maybe sometime next year.

No release date has been set for New Gods, but we have a lot of upcoming DCEU projects that would still help build up of the franchise lore. The next film in the DC slate is Aquaman, and it's set for a release on Dec. 21.
