There is little doubt that Spider-Punk was one of the most popular new characters to be introduced in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and fans are hoping to learn more about Hobie Brown. Luckily, it looks like Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will feature more about Hobie's world.
Spider-Man Producers Confirm Beyond the Spider-Verse Will Visit Spider-Punk's World
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller recently discussed the upcoming film on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast and they confirmed we will see more of Hobie Brown's home.
"Visiting Spider-Punk's world is one of many crazy mixed-media adventures that we're going to have in [Beyond the Spider-Verse]. It'll be a whole new feast for the eyes," the duo said.
There was only a brief glimpse at Spider-Punk's universe in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. However, that sequence confirmed that it's an interesting mix of various art styles that fits perfectly for Hobie Brown.
Needless to say, we are looking forward to seeing what kind of universe would produce a character like Spider-Punk.
Daniel Kaluuya, who plays Hobie in Across the Spider-Verse, had previously spoken about the unique attributes of his character's world.
"I think his world is really interesting, this mix of London and New York," he said.
"It's very oppressive, we spoke about George Orwell's 1984, Hobie's reality reminds us of that," Kaluuya added.
He then pointed out that he is still unsure if Spider-Punk will get his own spin-off set in Hobie's world.
"I would love to watch that as a fan and if it happens it would be amazing, but if it doesn't, we've got [Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse]," Kaluuya said.
Although we're still uncertain about a Spider-Punk spin-off project, we can look forward to seeing more of Hobie Brown in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now screening in cinemas across the globe. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently scheduled for release on March 29, 2024.
