The Spider-Verse continues to expand and another big actor is set to join the upcoming Sony Pictures offering Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Nope and Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya has just been confirmed to be joining the highly anticipated sequel to 2018's Into the Spider-Verse as Hobart "Hobie" Brown aka Spider-Punk, one of the more bizarre iterations of the web-slinger.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Kaluuya is voicing the character who made his official Marvel debut in 2015, created by Dan Slott and Olivier Coipel. Key details about the film's plot are still reportedly being kept under wraps. Meanwhile, Kaluuya isn't the only Marvel Cinematic Universe actor pulling double duty in the film. In fact, both Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Gwen/Kate Bishop) and Oscar Isaac (Spider-Man 2099/Moon Knight) also appear in the animated sequel.

In case you weren't aware, the British actor previously appeared in Black Panther as W'Kabi, T'Challa's best friend turned bitter adversary but scheduling conflicts prevented him from reprising the role in Wakanda Forever.

Despite his unfortunate removal from Black Panther 2, Kaluuya still had a pretty solid year career-wise following the success of Jordan Peele's Nope. Now, he's Marvel-bound yet again in Across the Spider-Verse.

It'll be interesting to see if W'Kabi will somehow make his way back to Earth-616 in the future but it's worth noting that director Ryan Coogler pretty much confirmed that the forthcoming MCU flick addresses W'Kabi's status in the billion-dollar franchise.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits cinemas on November 11th. Meanwhile, Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is slated for release on June 2, 2023.
