We're now just a year away before the highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse hits theaters. For the past several months, we've been hearing a lot of updates about the film with the first-look images and teaser trailers that they released. Now, another piece of information has been revealed about the film and we know now which antagonist will Miles Morales face in the sequel.

The official Twitter account of Sony Pictures Animations has unveiled the first look photo at the villain of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Spot, voiced by Jason Schwartzman. You can check it below:

They also offered a description of The Spot: "Spot's whole body is covered in interdimensional portals (made to feel like "living ink") that can send him anywhere he wants to go. He can also make these portals appear out of thin air to transport objects and people at will. This spells trouble for Miles..."

In the comics, the character is depicted as a foil of Spider-Man and Daredevil who made his appearance first as Dr. Jonathan Ohnn in Spectacular Spider-Man #97 and debuted as The Spot in the next issue. He is known for his ability to open interdimensional portals, as well as smaller-scale ones, which he uses to travel long distances instantly and commit crimes. Across the Spider-Verse will be the character's first appearance on the big screen.

It is exciting that the film has announced who the villain is which gives us an idea about what the story will be and how big the threat is Miles Morales and his friends are going to face in the sequel. The first look image that they released also looks cool and hints that the character is definitely going to be a significant foil that the Spider-Verse team won't easily face.
