This week, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse finally arrives in theaters and a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing Miles Morales' next multiversal adventure which is looking like it will be much bigger than they explored in the first film.

As already shown by the previous trailers and TV spots that they released, the sequel will feature hundreds of Spider-People across the multiverse and the casting has been revealed for several new characters that they will introduce.

Now, we have another casting update for a beloved character that is set to appear in the film.

The official Twitter account of the film has confirmed that actor-comedian and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg is voicing Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Samberg's casting in the film has been rumored for several weeks, but this is the first official acknowledgment from their promotional campaign that the Emmy winner is going to be part of it.

In case you're not familiar with the character, Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker who was created by Miles Warren/Jackal to fight the hero but ended up becoming the ally. He would later on take the mantle of Scarlet Spider.

They also confirmed that The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg is voicing Margo Kess/Spider-Byte, who is one of the hundreds of Spider-People that will be featured in the film.

It is certainly exciting to see these casting confirmations in the sequel as we are getting closer to its release since it gives us an overview of the voices that we will hear once we see it.

In the case of Samberg, it is definitely delightful to learn about his involvement since he is a talented and funny actor who could put a fun spin on the character and potentially make him the comedic scene-stealer.

It's also not surprising to see him involved since his fellow The Lonely Island member Jorma Taccone is also part of the cast and he previously worked with Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the writers and producers of the film.

The aforementioned two actors are among the various names that are part of the stacked cast that already includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, and many more.

It wouldn't be surprising at this point if we'll hear more actors that are part of the cast since there are hundreds of characters in the film.
