Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Will Reportedly Bring Back Venom Character

The upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is expected to feature multiple versions of Spider-Man and nods to the history of the character throughout different mediums as they will also feature his iterations in video games and animated shows.

There have been questions about whether the film will also have major references to the live-action Spider-Man films although there are rumors that Tom Holland will be making a cameo appearance in live-action form. So far, the scoop remains unconfirmed by anyone involved in the project.

Now, another major rumor has emerged about the film as notable scooper Daniel Richtman has reported that Peggy Lu is reprising the role of Mrs. Chen from the Venom films in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for a cameo appearance. Not only that, she will allegedly appear in live-action form.

In case you forgot, Mrs. Chen is a minor character from the Venom films who owns the convenience store that Eddie Brock frequents. While she doesn't have a major role in both films, she did have little standout moments such as becoming Venom's temporary host in the sequel.

However, it should be pointed out that the scoop has not been confirmed by Sony nor reported by the major trades so we have to take it with a grain of salt. If it ends up being true, there is a possibility that they will keep this a surprise to the audience.

It is interesting to hear that we might see the film will explore a live-action universe through the Venom character which strongly suggests that the film will have a bit of live-action elements and it also potentially supports the rumor that Holland will show up in live-action form.

For now, all we can do is wait and see whether this rumor ends up being true until the film finally releases and, if it does happen, it could be a cool moment that the audience will love.
