It's crystal clear that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spider-Man flick will be unlike anything we've seen before in the franchise and as we inch closer to 2021, both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have been delivering the goodies that made a lot of webheads pretty darn excited for what's to come in the film. So far, it's already been confirmed that Tom Holland will be joined by Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina who will both reprise their villainous roles, this time in the MCU.
Not only that, but Spider-Man 3 could also be bringing in other familiar faces in the Spidey film franchise like Kirsten Dunst, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire as suggested by previous rumors. If they end up becoming true, there's no doubt that the film will be as stacked as the last two Avengers films but what if the film features more characters from the Spider-Man lore?
It's been rumored for months now that Sony is developing a spinoff flick headlined by Peter Parker's cosmic mentor Madame Web and although it has yet to be confirmed, the possibility of her appearing in Spider-Man 3 isn't exactly out of the question. Now, artist @spidermnkyxxiii is entertaining the idea and he already has an actress in mind — Bird Box star Sandra Bullock. It's an odd choice considering the fact that Madame Web has always been portrayed as an elderly woman but hey, if they can cast a younger Aunt May in Marissa Tomei, then I don't see this one as a problem at all. Check it out here:
We still know very little about the upcoming MCU flick but one thing's for sure, it's shaping up to be the best live-action Spider-Man film ever, especially if they're really turning it into a Spider-Verse type of project. Here's to hoping we'll get more details about it in the coming days as the anticipation is already killing a lot of fans, myself included.
Spider-Man 3 hits cinemas in December 2021.
