Space Jam: A New Legacy Trailer Pits LeBron James and Bugs Bunny Against Interesting New Villains

It's really happening! Space Jam: A New Legacy has just dropped the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel and it features LeBron James and Bugs Bunny facing off against some interesting new villains.

The Space Jam 2trailer opens with James telling his son about basketball camp, encouraging the boy by telling him about his potential. However, Dom is not interested in the sport and begs his father to just let him do what he wants.

During their conversation, they end up on the wrong floor and discover a room filled with servers. Dom disappears and James chases him, ending up in a virtual world where he faces a rogue algorithm played by Avengers: Endgame's Don Cheadle.

The algorithm has Dom but what does it want in exchange for the boy? Interestingly, it just wants to play basketball and send James to "the rejects." That's how James ends up leading the Looney Tunes characters in an epic game against some scary-looking villains.

Space Jam: A New Legacy will once again feature Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Tweety, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn, Lola Bunny, and Speedy Gonzales. Even Granny joins the fun and goes up against one of the villains in an epic dance-off in the trailer.

The sequel is long overdue, having been in production hell for several years. Luckily, fans can rest assured that Space Jam 2 will finally get both a theatrical and digital release this July.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is scheduled to premiere in selected theaters and on HBO Max on July 16, 2021.
