Sony Pictures Reportedly Plans to Continue Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man Journey

For the longest time, Andrew Garfield has been treated as the weakest link among the actors who have played Spider-Man on the big screen but there's no denying that Spider-Man: No Way Home finally gave him his redemption arc after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 failed to hit the mark several years back. Now, the entire Marvel fandom is clamoring for more of his version of Spidey and most of them believe that the actor deserves another shot to continue his journey as our friendly neighborhood web-slinger from another universe.

Twitter leaker MyTimeToShineHello (via The Direct) claims that both Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are interested in bringing back Garfield for multiple projects, potentially a third The Amazing Spider-Man film. In a follow-up, the oftentimes reliable Daniel Richtman tweeted out Garfield "might" come back in the Spider-Man franchise. However, the specifics weren't disclosed.

Well, considering the rousing reception Garfield got from the MCU fandom and his story becoming one of the emotional cores of No Way Home, it would be foolish for Sony and Marvel not to capitalize on all the hype surrounding the actor. The only question is, where does that leave Tobey Maguire? Hopefully, the powers that be also have plans for him because frankly, he is still in tremendous shape to play the role.

Only a few days removed since Spider-Man: No Way Home hit cinemas and it's already being dubbed as the best Spider-Man film of all time. Frankly speaking, it's hard to say otherwise because the film has everything any webhead could wish for.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now showing in cinemas worldwide.
