Sonny Boy Overview and Episode 3Recap
Sonny Boy is an original anime by Studio Madhouse. It all starts with a classroom of 36 students on a regular summer day. The day, of course, stops being regular when the high-schoolers are transported into another dimension, school building and all.

The students have accepted their situation, but another mystery demands their attention, as a few of them start mysteriously vanishing. Eventually, the missing people are found frozen in place, with a black substance covering them entirely.
Nagara and Mizuho are sent to investigate. Mizuho reveals that the cats following her are not hers but her grandmother's, who was taken to a nursing home. Since no one wanted them, she shoved them in her school back and ran, explaining why they were with her on the day the school started drifting. She also suggests that she's been able to use her superpowers even before the school ended up in a different dimension.
The pair later discovers a portal taking them to a different dimension, which consists solely of a room. In there, they find one of the missing students, playing video games by himself. It appears that the World (capitalized because it's a character in its own right, what with its absurd rules), drives away and expells those students who were reclusive and unlikely to be sought by their peers.
Nagara and Mizuho fight, with the former suggesting that Mizuho lied about her powers to appear cool, but they eventually make up and manage to close the portals, saving their classmates. Nozomi believes that Nagara does have a superpower; the ability to find portals to other dimensions.
