Fans loved Sonic the Hedgehog and adored its post-credit scene where it revealed that Tails is searching for his chili dog-loving friend. Tails had a fantastic design that mirrored the redesign Sonic had, which made fans wonder if there's a version of this character that had that terrible look from the first trailer. Either way, excited to see Tails in this universe and we're hoping he has a major presence in the sequel.

Director Jeff Fowler agrees since he told SyFy Wire that he's excited to see Tails in a major role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or whatever it ends up being called. Fowler was surprised when he attended some fan screenings and saw the huge reaction Sonic's sidekick got, underestimating how much people love this character. Tails is pretty awesome and actually has a couple of fun spin-off games so who knows what will happen when the sequel comes out?

"Of all the screenings that I would pop in for, seeing people's reaction to Tails showing up at the end … nothing could have prepared me! To see people respond and having these kids just shout at the screen, and just yell their little brains out. I just never got sick of it. I just loved it. And the idea that we made this whole movie, and we didn't have a single scene of Sonic and Tails together. It's incredible, but it also is so exciting [for a sequel]."

Tails appearing in a Sonic sequel would make a ton of sense since his first video game appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis. If this was done on purpose then a lot of people will really want to see Knuckles in a third movie since that character appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Let's hope future movies have more emphasis on Sonic's world and friends since no one cares about those human characters.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, first, sorry for the spoilers, and check out Sonic the Hedgehog now on all digital platforms.
