While story details about Sonic Forces are still a bit vague, a new Japanese trailer for the game might be enough to whet the appetites of many fans. The trailer is framed pretty well, with plenty of dramatic moments for the story and some gameplay. It's definitely one of the more interesting Sonic titles from Sega and Sonic Team.
From what's seen in the trailer, it looks like the new villain Infinite is a creation of longtime Sonic foe Doctor Eggman. Without much difficulty, we see the villain seemingly defeat Sonic, with Tails even dramatically shouting the name of his fallen ally. Characters like Knuckles and Silver are also seen, along with the created character that players can customize.
Unfortunately, we don't see much of the other villains. Metal Sonic can be briefly seen, and he looks to have new powers. The others are there to strike a cool pose, but that's about it, so we'll have to wait for more info on how this group got together. Others are more concerned with why Shadow is working for Eggman, since he seemingly turned a new leaf in recent games.
Sonic Forces will be available on November 7 for the PS4, Xbox One, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. Will it gain the same amount of praise as the acclaimed Sonic Mania? We'll have to wait and find out.
