Song Joong Ki And Lee Hee Joon Finish Filming Upcoming Thriller Movie Called Bogota
Meanwhile, Megabox Plus M announced Wednesday, October 6, that the filming for Bogota has finally been completed amid the restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Song Joong Ki, Lee Hee Joon, and Kwon Hae Hyo are among the confirmed cast to appear in the imminent film.
Pinkvilla reported that the cameras started rolling for Bogota in January 2020 in Bogota, Colombia. However, Song Joong Ki and the other cast and crew were forced to halt their shooting in March 2021 due to the rise of COVID-19 cases at the time.
After months of hiatus, the production team found a way and resumed filming the Bogota movie in Korea in July 2021. Though things were quite difficult since protective precautions still need to be followed, Song Joong Ki and the rest of the team were still able to finish everything recently.
Asked about the completion of the Bogota movie, Song Joong Ki said:
"I think it will be a very special movie that will overcome many hurdles, and good results will pour out as much as the hurdles are overcome. Just as Guk Hee arrived in Colombia and grew up one step at a time, actor Song Joong Ki learned a lot while meeting Bogota. It was a time to learn and feel things."
Song Joong Ki's co-star, Lee Hee Joon, also shared his experiences while filming Bogota. He stated:
"All the actors, directors, and staff who worked with me worked very hard, I was also very grateful to the Colombian staff who worked with me on the show."
For starters, Bogota depicts South Koreans who immigrated to Colombia in the early 1990s. The character of Song Joong Ki, Guk Hee, arrived in Bogota without money at the age of 19. Though he was penniless and hopeless, he was able to rise from the ashes and became an entrepreneur later on.
No official release date for Bogota has been announced as of this writing. However, avid followers of Song Joong Ki predict that the forthcoming thriller movie will premiere in early 2022.
