Avid followers of Son Ye Jin are likely to see her on small screens again after she was, reportedly, offered to appear in an upcoming new K-drama. On Thursday, it was reported that the girlfriend of Hyun Bin may soon be seen with Kang Ha Neul in a series titled Trees Die On Their Feet.

Son Ye Jin And Kang Ha Neul Received Offers To Star In Trees Die On Their Feet

Soompi reported that three South Korean stars received casting offers for the imminent K-drama called Trees Die On Their Feet. In response to the reports, Son Ye Jin's talent agency, MSTeam Entertainment, confirmed that the actress, indeed, was offered to become one of the lead stars.

"She was offered a role for the new drama ‘Trees Die on Their Feet' and has only received the script. Nothing has been decided yet."

The talent agency of Kang Ha Neul, Thcompany, revealed that the South Korean actor received the script. It did not, however, clarified if Ha Neul was directly offered to star in Trees Die On Their Feet, alongside Son Ye Jin.

Hook Entertainment, on the other hand, divulged that Young Yuh Jung received an offer to also star in Trees Die On Their Feet together with Song Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul. The talent agency, however, clarified that the veteran actress is still reviewing the offer as of this writing.

What Will Be Son Ye Jin And Kang Ha Neul's Roles In Trees Die On Their Feet?

For starters, Trees Die On Their Feet would center on a story of an elderly woman from North Korea, who is counting her last days on earth. She lives with a theatre actor who acts as her grandson to fulfill her final wish before finally breathing his last.

Reports have it that Youn Yuh Jung was offered to play Ja Geum Soon, who escaped to South Korea during the wartimes North Korea. Unfortunately, she got separated from her husband and own child when she decided to settle in South Korea.

Devastated yet hopeful, Ja Geum Soon erected Hotel Nakwon, a hotel chain in South Korea, while waiting for her family. Son Ye Jin is said to be portraying Se Yeon, the granddaughter of Geum Soon who is in charge of Hotel Nakwon. Kang Na Heul, for his part, was offered to play Jae Heon, the unknown theatre actor named Moon Sung who acts as the grandson of Geum Soon to fulfill her final wishes.

No official release date has been announced for the forthcoming Trees Die On Their Feet series. However, it is very much likely to premiere in the second half of 2022. Filming of the imminent K-drama is also expected to kick off early next year.
