Solo: A Star Wars Story Novel Almost Didn't Feature Key Rogue One Character

Some things are just meant to work out perfectly. Solo: A Star Wars Story concluded with Han Solo and Chewbacca winning the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian. However, the novelization of the film ends with a meeting between two young women that almost didn't happen. Watch out for spoilers from the new Star Wars book.

Solo: A Star Wars Story: Expanded Edition has an ending that wasn't featured in the movie. The epilogue focuses on Enfys Nest as she finally meets up with her Rebellion contacts to pass on the coaxium she took from Han. Author Mur Lafferty has revealed to StarWars.com that the scene was supposed to introduce Bail Organa and his young daughter Leia. However, she decided it would be more fitting to bring in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story characters Saw Gerrera and an 11-year-old Jyn Erso. Lafferty stated that she wanted Enfys and Jyn to have a meaningful interaction.

"I knew if [Enfys] saw any other girl who was already heavily involved with the stuff brewing with the Rebellion, she would want to give her something that she hadn't had," Lafferty said.

In the epilogue, Enfys offers Jyn a simple yet powerful advice about making people regret underestimating her. The young girl accepts it then displays that she has understood the instruction. It's an amazing exchange that reflects exactly what happened in Rogue One. Needless to say, fans can expect more interesting details to be revealed in Expanded Edition.

Solo: A Star Wars Story: Expanded Edition will be released on September 4 while the film's DVD and Blu-ray will be available starting September 25.
