Solo A Star Wars Story: Lucasfilm Releases Third Official Photo of Darth Maul

While there are a lot of things to love about Solo: A Star Wars Story, probably one of the most memorable reveals was that of Darth Maul being the true leader of Crimson Dawn. Lucasfilm had just recently released official pictures of Maul, and a third one has found its way online.

These were the original two images:

Though his look in the film isn't that clear because he appears in the form of a hologram, you can see that there's a lot of great detail with Maul's new appearance. He looks visibly aged here, and you'll also notice that his face is a tad scarred. The lightsaber he also wields is the one that he's seen using in Star Wars Rebels.

A lot of people think that it's a shame that Solo didn't do so well in the box office, because it set up the franchise for so many great characters. Besides perfect casting of Alen Ehrenreich as Han, you also have a great build-up for the crime syndicates, what with characters like Qi'Ra and Maul. Hopefully we get to see more gangster Star Wars stories down the line.

Solo: A Star Wars Story hits digital Sept. 14.
