Solo A Star Wars Story: Denny’s Commercial Hints at Sabacc Game Between Han Solo and Lando Calrissian

Lucasfilm has partnered up with Denny's to promote Solo: A Star Wars Story, and a fun new commercial has Denny's announce some upcoming trading cards you can exclusively get in the restaurant. What's more, we get appearances from actual aliens in the film, including everyone's favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca.

We at Collider are happy to exclusively debut a new Denny's commercial tied to the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story, featuring Star Wars creatures galore and Chrewbacca himself. The ad is part of Disney's promotional campaign for the film, and at Denny's specifically fans will be able to collect trading cards featuring characters from the movie as well as try a new movie-inspired menu. Proceeds from every trading card pack purchase benefit the charity No Kid Hungry.

Though the dialogue seems to be made for the commercial, I can't help but feel that the exchange between Lando and Han are lifted straight from the script. They're cheesy enough to be in a Star Wars movie, and I can imagine the scene going down exactly like that in the film.

Of course, I'm just guessing here, but it would be cool if the commercial actually went through that much detail. I wouldn't expect anything less from the marketing team for Star Wars.

We should expect more commercials like this to come out as the release for Solo draws nearer. Other companies that have partnered with Lucasfilm to push the movie besides Denny's are Esurance, General Mills, Nissan, Symantec, and —funnily enough— Solo plastic cups.

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
