Solo A Star Wars Story: Check Out Phoebe Waller-Bridge in her L3-37 Suit Pre-CGI

Alan Tudyk gave us a pretty memorable performance when he did mo-cap for K-2SO in Rogue One, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge is bringing something different to Solo with L3-37. The final look is actually a hybrid of practical and CG effects, and thanks to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, we have a look at L3 pre-CGI.

It has been confirmed before that the suit is a mix of practical and CGI, but this is the first time we actually get an image of Waller-Bridge on set. With movies as big as this one, it's cool that the prop department wanted to try something different when it came to bringing a new droid to the big screen.

The cool thing about L3-37 and Lando Calrissian is, L3 is more of an equal to Lando as compared to the usual droid servant. She is a literal self-made droid that has built herself from different parts that she has been able to salvage. If you look at L3's arms, you'll notice that they're the same "arm" parts of an astromech droid (e.g., R2-D2).

With the rest of the cast getting the spotlight, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is one of the actresses that I'm looking forward to the most. Bring in the droids!

Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
